This is yet another in the excellent annual series of short story compilations. Each volume contains 20 outstanding stories by contemporary North American writers, with a helpful brief introduction by the editor and a short biography and statement by each author. The stories are selected from those published in the prior year's literary journals such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic and the Kenyon Review. Each volume is edited by a continuing series editor as well as a different well-known author each year. Both the "Best American" series and the "O. Henry Prize" short story collection series, which operates on a similar basis, are outstanding and well worth reading and re-reading. (And every now and then the editors of each collection happen to select the same story for publication.).
My 2 boys (5 and 7) are really enjoying this. They are so excited every morning to see what is next. I noticed the price has more than doubled since I bought this a few weeks ago. I think $20 to $30 is fair. I paid around $25. $55 is highway robbery. Kind of a shame that they increased the price so much as we get closer to Christmas. I plan to get one next year too but early when price is reasonable.
I have a small Timbuk2 Classic bag, and another, off-brand bag that I often switch between, depending on function. I did get so tired of switching my camera kit between bags, though, with multiple lenses, cords, filters, etc. lurking in various pockets. Also, I wanted something with dedicated camera storage and protection, but in a messenger bag form-factor. This does exactly what I needed, and it does it very well. It provides adequate storage for most of my gear, though I did have to compromise on some lens capacity. Currently, I keep my Canon 7D with 28-135mm Lens attached in the center pocket (fits perfectly even with my Crumpler strap attached), my 70-300mm in one of the side pockets, and my Lensbaby and other sundry bits of kit in the other side pocket. It's well-built and the attached strap on the back does make yanking it out of one bag to insert into another a breeze.
The packaging claims you should use this in "unlived" spaces, like the attic or whatever, and now I know why...because if you're not in the room, you won't notice that this item does NOT work. I saw the mouse run directly to the corner where I had this item placed. It didn't bother the mouse one bit never mind "repel" it. This did absolutely nothing to repel a mouse. save your money and buy traps instead.
If you had fun playing Battlefield 2 : Bad Company multiplayer and was not hooked with BF3, BF4... You're in for a treat with the latest Battlefield 1.
